Site Statement
Why We Are Called 'The Sex-Ed Library'
Hi there!
Here at The Sex-Ed Library, our mission is to provide educators with a variety of resources to make them feel comfortable, confident, and supported teaching sex-ed. This is a broad statement, so, we wanted to make some things clear:
While we are happy to catalogue and share these resources, everyone who accesses our site is ultimately responsible for how they utilize it. Whether these resources align with your personal beliefs, whether they are appropriate for your classroom, whether they follow your school/board’s mandate — these are NOT our priority.
When you come to our site, YOU have the freedom to pick and choose what you access and how you use it.
Sound familiar?
We are called The Sex-Ed Library for a reason. We want everyone to feel welcome, we want to provide a variety of resources, and we want to do this for free — just like a public library! If you decided to sign out a book and then did not like what was inside, you would not blame the library (nor would you share this text with friends); remember this when you come to our site.
Additionally, just like any other library, these resources do not necessarily reflect the views of The Sex-Ed Library staff; therefore, those who run this site are not personally responsible for the use of these resources, nor are they personally affiliated with the content.
We try our best to ensure our sources are reputable, accessible, inclusive, and reflect the diversity that exists both inside and outside the classroom — THIS is our priority. Of course, we understand that things change quickly, so please reach out to us if you find a source problematic, incorrect, or inaccessible.

Our goal is not to tell you what we think; our goal is not to tell you what you should teach; most importantly, our goal is not to tell you what your students should learn. Our ONLY goal is to provide educators with unbiased, accurate, inclusive, updated, and free resources for ANY topic they may come across in their classroom.

Yours Truly,
The Sex-Ed Library
